Over half of the Township is connected to public sanitary sewer services, provided by the Southern Clinton County Municipal Utilities Authority (SCCMUA). Homes are billed by a flat rate based on a single "residential equivalent unit", or REU. Current sewer rates are available online in the Sewer Fee Schedule (PDF).
|January through March||December 15||January 15|
|April through June||March 15||April 15|
|July through September||June 15||July 15|
|October through December||September 15||October 15|
Sewer accounts paid after the due date are charged a 10% fee. Please note that failure to receive a sewer bill or failure to deliver timely payment does not waive penalty charges. Sewer bills that are over one year delinquent will have balances turned over to taxes as a delinquent sewer charge on the winter tax bill. Sewer amounts turned over to taxes are determined on November 1 for the December 1 tax billing.
SCCMUA operates and maintains the sanitary sewer system. If you have a sewer back up, immediately notify SCCMUA at 517-669-8311 or call 911 Emergency Dispatch after hours. If a problem within the sewer system is found, SCCMUA will be the agency responsible for determining the cause, coordinating claims, and keeping customers informed.
